NFC East Twitter Style Preview
Leaving the long and drawn out NFL previews to the others, we decided to take a different approach for 2012. A Twitter style preview that happens in 140 characters or less. Spelling and grammar are pretty much out the window as corners have to be cut. Speaking of cut, if a response comes in over 140 characters, it will end with a “…” The panel consists of three football writer/fans/ and perpetrators of various other crimes….
Lee Johnson hails from the NFL Draft Net and is a longtime football blogger who has focused on the NFL (and Draft), Fantasy Football, and College Football. @NFLDraftNet
Tom Jenkins writes for SportsJabber.net, among other places on the web, and is an NFL moderator of the SJ forums. @Tom_Jenkins57
Dale Scott is a sports fanatic who gives his take on current sports happenings from the couch at SportsTater.co, as well as commentary from his thousands of recorded games he has accumulated since childhood. @SportsTater
Giants –
Lee: Forgotten in title run was 9-7 record. The rest of NFCE being under .500 was a big help. Consistent play could = return trip. Eli is elite
Tom: Until proven otherwise, the Giants are the kings of the NFL. Eli has made great strides each season in the league and will look to continue.
Dale: The “quiet” New York team lets the Jets make the noise, while the G-Men win Super Bowls.
Cowboys –
Lee: Having all the talent means nothing if it isn’t applied. Jerry can’t will a title or would have by now. Secondary addressed, but not fixed.
Tom: Romo needs to embrace the leadership role if this team is going to succeed, the stats are there, but the wins aren’t. He needs to prove himself.
Dale: Will never win a Super Bowl with Romo, want proof see Danny White.. White>>>Romo
Eagles –
Lee: Forget what the media tells you. What LeSean McCoy does is what the Eagles will get. He will make everyone look better than they are playing
Tom: The Eagles may have the most playmakers in the NFL, but it doesn’t mean anything if they aren’t performing to their talents.
Dale: In 2011 they proved predictions are useless, hopefully Andy Reid pulled out his inner Denny Green and says “You Have to Play The Game!”
Redskins –
Lee: Added so-so WR options for RG3, but still have a Shanahan style of toss up at RB. Lack of identity, but produce. Defensive is strong point.
Tom: 2012 is all about RGIII in Washington, he has to have a good year in his rookie campaign for the Redskins to be taken seriously in the East
Dale: How is it that Daniel Snyder hasn’t imploded yet? RGIII is not a Shanahan type of QB, so enjoy the season while it lasts Mike.
