AFC West Twitter Style Preview
Leaving the long and drawn out NFL previews to the others, we decided to take a different approach for 2012. A Twitter style preview that happens in 140 characters or less. Spelling and grammar are pretty much out the window as corners have to be cut. Speaking of cut, if a response comes in over 140 characters, it will end with a “…” The panel consists of three football writer/fans/ and perpetrators of various other crimes….

Chargers –
Lee: Big things expected out of Ryan Mathews this season. Still Rivers’ team and looking forward to some showdowns with Peyton.
Tom: Rivers is the lone first round QB from the ’04 draft without a Super Bowl ring. He’s got to prove that he belongs in the same conversation
Dale: How is Norv still the Head Coach? That is one of the biggest mysteries on Earth right now.
Broncos –
Lee: Manning is in town and some feel this makes them SB contenders (not me). D is solid but will see a faster paced O getting off the field.
Tom: Without Tebow at the helm, are the Broncos a playoff contender? Possibly, but only time will tell if Tim threw teams off balance or if there…
Dale: Got rid of the Tebow problem, now they will have to deal with the Elway problem. You’ll see.
Chiefs –
Lee: This is the year for the Chiefs to compete in the AFCW. If they can’t do it now, it’s time to look past Cassell.
Tom: Cassel needs to be the QB that stepped in for Brady all those years ago, and prove that he can lead his team to wins in the face of adversity
Dale: I am convinced that if Cassell goes down again that Stanzi can get the job done.
Raiders –
Lee: Look for Palmer to be more like his old self with being able to actually look at the playbook and prepare this year. Not enough, but better.
Tom: Raiders need to do something, anything to get back to their glory days. The Black Hole can’t survive much longer without some success.
Dale: This year they win the AFC West while everyone’s focus is on Peyton in Denver.
